News is sacred , views are free.
That is what every student of journalism is taught. But in the same classroom teachers tell you that people are interested in reading about people. We are also taught that every dead body has a story to tell! And so, stories of people in public life, and sometimes private too, enter the media, coloured with views, quotes, anecdotes, the goodness and the very raw human element in them.
Mocktales, my blog in The Week where I am a journalist covering mainly politics, gives me the freedom to share the stories of people who make and execute our policies, occasionally, about the policies themselves.
